Extend the Forecast by Months

When you click Calendar in the Forecast Maintenance (MSF) program, you can extend a forecast by calendar months.

  1. Enter data in these fields:

Select the first month for which you want to create a forecast period.

Periods begin on the first day of the month you select and end on the last day of that month. For example, if you select today, which is the November 10, the period would be 11/01/yyyy to 11/30/yyyy.

The date you enter cannot overlap any forecast period you created with this program.

How many months?

Enter the number of months you want to extend the forecast.

Forecast qty per month

Required
11 numeric

Enter the forecast quantity per month. If the quantity varies, you can select the months that differ and change the quantity after you extend the forecast.

The program prompts Do you want to proceed with this?

  1. Click Yes to extend the forecast, No to change a field, or Cancel to exit without extending the forecast.

  1. Choose the appropriate options:

Add another forecast period for this item

Click Add.

Delete the selected forecast period

Click Delete. See Delete.

Change the selected forecast period

Click OK.

Print the forecast period listing

Click Print. See Print an Inquiry.

Include sales in new periods or update Fcst variance

Click Recalculate.

Extend the forecast by period

Click Period. See Extend the Forecast by Periods you Define.

Extend the forecast by month

Click Calendar.

Extend the forecast by periods defined in the Forecast Period Maintenance (MST) program

Click Template. See Extend the Forecast using a Template.

Display forecasts from sales representatives, customers, or branches

Click Detail. See Display Forecast Detail. Click Exit to return to this program.

Exit the forecast for this item

Click Exit.

  1. Choose the appropriate options when you click Exit:
