Enter Mapping File Layout

When you click Layout in the Format Mapping Maintenance (XMAP) program you can enter mapping file layout specifications.

The program displays:

Field Name

Displays

Record type

The type of record (e.g., detail, header, control)

Seq

The sequence number assigned to the record

Description

The description of the record

Mandatory

A check mark indicates the field is mandatory

Size

The size of the field

Numeric

A check mark indicates the field is numeric

Decimal

A check mark indicates the field is a decimal

Type

The field type

RJ field

A check mark indicates the field is right-justified

Zero fill

A check mark indicates the field is defaults to zeroes

Output field

The sequence number of the output field

Value

The default value of the field
  1. Choose the appropriate options:

Click Copy. See Copy.

Display the selected format

Click Select or double click the line.

Print the format number listing

Click Print. See Print.

Exit the program

Click Exit.

ACCM1 and ACCM2 are available for DETAIL1 record types to support the ability to accumulate two or more dollar values from the import file into a third field which updated to the PowerShift file. All fields must be defined the same; e.g., 14.2. ACCM1 and ACCM2 require that the Output file and Output field are blank.

SUMM1 and SUMM2 (available for POSTDET1 record types) are the values obtained from ACCM1 and ACCM2; you must set the Output file and Output field to which the data should be updated.

Field size

Enter a field size from 1 to 252.

Numeric

Select if this record is numeric only.

Decimal

Optional

Select if this record required a decimal.

Date

Optional

Select if this record is a date.

Right justify

Optional

Select if the record is right-justified.

Zero fill

Optional

Select if you want the field to default to zeroes.

Key field

Optional

Select if you want the key field or leave blank if you do not.

Table

Optional

Select if the record is a table.

Output file

Display only

The output file name.

Output field

Select the output field.

Change a field

Move the cursor to the field and make changes. Click Apply to accept or click Cancel to abandon changes.

Delete a saved record

Click Delete.

Change the number in the Sequence field

Click Change no.

This button displays only in add mode.

Add or select a mapping file format code

Click Table. See Enter Codes for a Mapping File Format. Click OK to return to this program.

Return to the layout summary screen

Click OK.

Return to Format Mapping Maintenance

Click Exit.
