Create a Program Password

Use the Program Password Maintenance (XPM) program to create, change, copy, and delete a security password for a program or credit card numbers. See Road Map for work flow.

  1. Click Add if passwords exist. The program prompts Program.

  2. Enter the program for which you want to create a password or click the Lookup icon and use the standard lookup options to select the program from a list.
    OR
Enter CZCQM to change the password that enables maintenance and display of the credit card number in Customer Credit Maintenance (CCM) program. (CZCQM does not appear in the listing of program names) The default password, when a PowerShift system is installed is PS.

  3. Enter data in these fields:

Field Name

Type / Max Length

Action / Description

Enter the password that you want the user to enter at the Enter program password prompt to be able to access this program.

If a user enters an incorrect password three times, the system displays the message Security Violation. When the user clicks Close, the session closes.

4

5

Variable length

Conditional
2 numeric

Enter the variable length. The variable length plus the password cannot exceed 10. If your password is 4 characters, the maximum variable length is 6.

If you selected Variable type 1 and enter 8 as the variable length, the user enters the full day of the week. For example, if the password is X1, the variable placement is suffix, and it is Tuesday, the user would enter X1TUESDAY, even though Tuesday has fewer than 8 characters.

If you selected Variable type 1 and enter fewer than 5, users may have to enter a portion of their user ID. For example, if the password is SEPTEMBER, the Variable length is 1, and the variable placement is suffix, the user would enter SEPTEMBER plus the first character in their User ID.
