Bill for Freight Options

Freight codes specify a method of payment for freight on sales orders.

If the Bill for freight? option is selected, it insures that the order will have freight charges; if the option is not selected, you have the option to charge or not charge for freight.

If you enter a Freight amount, then Freight application and Freight charge type fields require selections. You have the option to apply freight to all shipments or just the first shipment.

You can associate fixed amount miscellaneous charges with freight codes. If you select a Misc charge code, the value associated with the code is displayed and can be overridden by entering an amount in the Misc charge override field.

Freight Terms Code

If you select a code in the Freight terms field in the customer's record in the Customer Maintenance (CM) or the Customer Ship-to Maintenance (CSM) program, this code is the default in order entry programs (Sales Order Maintenance (OE), EDI/Sales Quote Maintenance (QOE), and One-Step Invoice Entry (RE)) and also shipment confirmation programs: Sales Shipment Confirmation (OC) and Secured Confirmation (SOC).

Freight Charge Type

If you select F: Flat freight charge amount in the Freight charge type field, the flat rate charge is added as the estimated freight when a sales order is created.

Freight Terms Code on Documents

These sales and shipping programs print the freight terms code on these documents:

  • Sales Order Print Queue (OPPM) and Sales Order Print (OP)

  • Acknowledgment Print Queue (OPSPM) and Acknowledgment Print (OPS)

  • Picking List Print Queue (OPKPM) and Picking List Print (OPK)

  • Packing Slip Print Queue (OPAKPM) and Packing Slip Print (OPAK)

  • Packing List Print Queue (OPLPM) and Packing Listing Print (OPL)

  • Quote Acknowledgment Queue (QPSPM) and Quote Acknowledgment Print (QPS)

  • RMA Acknowledgment Print Queue (RMAAPM) and RMA Acknowledgment Print (RMAA)
