Background: SCAC Codes Maintenance
Use the SCAC Codes Maintenance (TSCAC) program to add, change, copy, and delete a Standard Carrier Alpha Code that you can select for a shipper in the Ship Via Maintenance (TSV) program. See Road Map for work flow.
When a customer calls to check on a shipment, your customer service department needs to be able to give up-to-date and accurate status information. This program allows you to tie the shipper's URL to its SCAC code.
In the Ship Via Maintenance (TSV) program, you can select the same SCAC code for multiple ship via codes. For example, you may set up ship via codes for different types of delivery (overnight, 2-day, ground, freight, and international), all of which use the same website for tracking information.
Your customer service department can run the Shipment Lines Inquiry (OSIQ) program and click Track to display the shipper's website with the tracking number for the customer's shipment to get its current status.
