Add a Shelf Life Code

Use the Shelf Life Codes Maintenance (TSLM) program to add, change and delete codes that define the period of time a lot or serial numbered item received into inventory is good (i.e., the duration between the time it is created/received until the lot/serial number expires). See Feature Overview: Shelf Life for additional information.

  1. Click Add if codes exist. The program prompts Shelf life code.

  2. Enter a unique identifier (10 alphanumeric characters maximum) and click OK.

  3. Enter data in these fields:

Enter the number of calendar days a given lot or serial number is good for. When items are received, this number is added to the receipt date as the default expiration date for the stock.

Select the action to take during picking when an expired control number is encountered:

Warn that the item is beyond its shelf life date when picking is attempted

When picking a transfer, the operator is always warned about expired control numbers regardless of this setting.

During automated obligation, expired control numbers for all types of orders are skipped.

To delete the displayed record

Click Delete.

Note
You cannot delete a record unless it has been saved; use Cancel.
