Road Map: Ship Via Codes Maintenance

Use the Ship Via Codes Maintenance (TSV) program to add or change, copy, and delete ship via codes.  See Background for more information.

You should run these programs: None required

Before you run this program the first time

You should run these programs:  

  • SCAC Codes Maintenance (TSCAC) to set up Standard Carrier Alpha Code for a shipper.

  • Output Device Maintenance (XDM) to set up the output devices you plan to use.

  • Date-Output Device Maintenance (ZE) to select your default output device and set whether you can override that device.

After you run this program

You will most likely run these programs:

  • Customer Maintenance (CM) to set up customer records.

  • Customer Ship-to Maintenance (CSM) to set up customer ship-to addresses that are different from the customer's remit-to address.

  • Vendor Maintenance (VM) to set up vendor records.

Sales Orders

You may run these order processing programs in this sequence:

  1. Sales Order Maintenance (OE) to enter orders, and optionally obligate items and create shipments.

OR

One-Step Invoice Entry (RE) to enter an order, obligate items, create a shipment, and confirm the shipment in one step.

OR

Quote-to-Order Transfer (EPIB) to transfer:

  • Sales orders imported from ASCII files with Order Import (EPI).

  • Sales quotations entered with EDI/Sales Quote Maintenance (QOE).

  • Customer projects transferred with Project Maintenance (PSM).

  • Orders created with Repetitive Billing Report (RBIC).

  1. (Conditional) Order Shipment Selection (OSS) to obligate and create shipments for selected sales orders or order lines, if you have not done so with Sales Order Maintenance (OE).

OR

Sales Order Auto Processing (OAP) to obligate sales orders and create shipments.

  1. Sales Shipment Confirmation (OC) or Secured Confirmation (SOC) to create a shipment, if you have not already done so, and confirm the shipment.

    OR

Bill of Lading Maintenance (BLM) program to create a bill of lading and confirm the shipments and bill of lading.

  1. (Optional) Shipment by Order Inquiry (OSSQ) to display the status of a shipment.

    OR

    Shipment Line Inquiry (OSIQ) to display line information for a shipment and click Track to access the shipper's web site to display its delivery status.

Transfers

  1. Branch Transfer Maintenance (ITM) to create a branch transfer.

  2. Branch Transfer Confirmation (ITS) or Secured Transfer Confirmation (SITS) to create a transfer shipment and optionally confirm it.

  3. Bill of Lading Maintenance (BLM) to create a bill of lading and confirm the shipments and bill of lading.
