Assign Sales Reps

Use the Sales Rep Assignment (SRAM) program to assign, change, and delete sales reps for levels of the sales rep hierarchy. See Background and Road Map for more information.

The program displays levels set up with the Sales Commission Hierarchy Maintenance (SCHM) program.

  1. Highlight the level of the hierarchy for which you want to assign sales reps and click Select or double click the line. Existing sales rep assignments for this level are displayed; the fields displayed depend on the hierarchy.

  2. Choose the following options:

Assign a sales rep assignment to this level of the hierarchy

Click Add. See step 3.

Delete the  sales rep assignment

Highlight the line and click Delete. See Delete.

Copy the selected sales rep assignment

Highlight the line and click Copy. See Copy.

Display the selected sales rep assignment

Highlight the line and click Select or double click the line. See step 4.

Print sales rep assignment listing

Click Print. See Print.

Exit this level of the hierarchy

Click Exit.

Exit the program and return to the menu

Click Quit.

Select the code for the sales rep to assign or click a Lookup icon and use the standard lookup options to select the sales rep from a list.

Split

Enter the portion of the amount of the order or line that is subject to commission to be used as a basis for calculating the rep's commission. If this rep gets full credit for this sale, enter 100. If the amount subject to commission is 2800.00, the split is 100, and the rate is 5.00, the commission will be 140.00 (2800 x 100 x .05).

The commission of an inside sales rep, manager, or support office may be based on 25 or 50% of the amount subject to commission. If the amount subject to commission is 2800.00, the split is 75, and the rate is 5.00, the commission will be 105.00 (2800 x .75 x .05).

Note
Commission splits for the sales reps do not have to equal 100%.

Move the cursor to the field and make changes. Click or click the Lookup icon and use the standard lookup options to select it from a listto accept the changes or click Cancel to reject the changes.

Delete the displayed record

Click Delete . See Delete.

Enter notes

Click Notes. See Enter Notes.

Enter data in custom fields your company uses

Click User. See Enter Data in User or Shadow File Fields.

This button displays only if you have set up user fields for this program in the User Fields Maintenance (XMO) program.

Display the date the record was created or changed and the user

Click Audit. See Display an Audit Trail.

This button is available only if audit trail logging is activated for the Sales Rep Assignment (S2) file.

Return to the list of assignments.

Click OK. See step 2.

Exit to the menu

Click Quit.
