Enter a Count from a Pre-printed Physical Inventory Tag

Use the Alternate Physical Count Entry (HAE) program to enter counts from pre-printed physical inventory tags and change the count for a tag. See Background and Road Map for more information.

The program displays the cycles that you have set up with the Cycle Count Preparation (HCP) program. See Cycles for a description of the columns.

  1. Select the cycle that you counted and click Select. The program displays counts already entered for this cycle.

  2. Click Add if you have already entered counts.

  3. Enter data in these fields:

Enter the number of the item or click the Lookup icon and use the standard lookup options to select the item from a list.

For subsequent entries, you can use the same number, replace it, or replace a portion of the last item number you entered.

Tag number

Enter the number of the pre-printed tag. You do not need to enter leading zeros.

For subsequent entries, the program displays the next sequence number, which you can accept or change.

Warehouse code

The program displays the code in the Primary whse field in the Branch Item Maintenance (IMB) program if the item is not warehouse/bin controlled.

Bin location

If this item is warehouse/bin controlled item, enter the bin location for the quantity counted.

The program displays the bin in the Primary bin loc field in the Branch Item Maintenance (IMB) program if the item is not warehouse/bin controlled.

Control number

If this item is serial or lot controlled, enter the control number for the item counted.

Remarks

Enter your initials or an appropriate comment. This field is not used by the system, but you can use it in custom reports.

Floor stock?

Select if you want to set the control number to FLOORSTOCK or leave blank if you do not.

If you enter a controlled item and a location or control number that is not in the system, the program prompts Entered combination does not exist; add to cycle?

  1. (Conditional) Click Yes to add this control number or location or click No if your entry was in error. If you click No, enter another location or control number.

  2. Choose the appropriate options:

Click Modify.

Exit without entering this count

Click Cancel. The program prompts Item number and Tag number. Enter another item and tag or leave blank to exit.

Accept the data

Click OK. The program prompts Item number and Tag number. Enter another item and tag or leave blank to exit.

Exit and return to the menu

Click Quit.

When you click OK, the program displays at the bottom of the screen the item number, tag number, count entered, warehouse, bin, control number, and status (V: Void).

  1. Continue entering quantities for the tags counted or clear the Item number and Tag number fields.

  2. Choose the appropriate options:

Delete the selected tag

Click Delete. See Delete.

Display the count for the selected item

Click Select.

Display items from a specific item number

Click Restart. The program prompts Item number and Tag number. Enter the first item and tag you want to display or leave blank to begin with the first item and tag in the file.

Print the item number listing

Click Print. See Print.

Display the previous set of records in the file

Click Page up.

Display the next set of records in the file

Click Page down.

Void the selected tag

Click Void. The program prompts Void tag [number]? Click Yes to void and No to retain the current count. If you click Yes, the program sets the count to 0.

Exit this cycle

Click Exit.

Exit and return to the menu

Click Quit.

  1. Choose the appropriate options when you click Exit:

Click Restart. The program prompts Branch and Cycle number. Enter the first branch and cycle you want to display or leave blank to begin the display with the first cycle in the file.

Display the previous set of records in the file

Click Page up.

Click Page down.

Exit the program

Click Exit.

Exit and return to the menu

Click Quit.
