Transfer a Project

When you click Transfer in the Project Maintenance (PSM) program, you can move data from a project to your database. Project costs must be current for the transfer to occur. See Background and Road Map for more information.

  1. (Conditional) If there is a customer associated with the project, the program prompts: Do you want to create a sales quote?

    Answer Y to create a sales quote for this customer.

  1. (Conditional) If the project's engineering change level/routing revision level is the same as the existing one, the program prompts Do you want to replace the existing bom/routing?

    Answer Y to replace the existing bill of material / routing.

  1. (Conditional) If the parent item is a standard item and the item was never held at that branch before the program prompts: Project parent is a standard item not previously handled at this branch (branch number). Do you want this transfer to add it to the branch record and update with this ECL?

Answer Y to add this parent item to the branch record and use this ECL.

  1. (Conditional) If the parent item is a standard item and the item was previously held in the branch, but the ECL and/or RRL changed, the program prompts: Project parent (item number) is a standard item; but the ECL/RRL is different from the standard. Do you want to update the standard and copy over the new ECL?

Answer Y to update the standard item and overwrite the existing ECL with this new ECL.

The program displays these fields for each project quantity:

The cost per unit for this project quantity: Total cost of sales / Qty to trans

  1. Click Sel to the left of the product quantity you want to transfer.

  2. Click Exit to transfer the selected project quantity or choose the appropriate options:

Display sequence numbers in reverse order

Click For/Rev. Click again to display the list in its original order.

Display the previous set of records in the file

Click Page up.

Display the next set of records in the file

Click Page down.

Display sequences from a specific number

Click Restart. The program prompts Sequence number. Enter the first number you want to display or leave blank to begin the display with the first sequence in the file.

Display all records or only selected records

Click Selected/All.

Transfer the selected project quantity and all new items, branch item and cost records, inventory notes, bill of material, routing, and new customer and vendor records

Click Exit.

Display quantities, profit, commission, and discount percents

Click Proj qtys. See Enter a Project Quantity.

Display the bill of material

Click BOM. See Enter a Project Bill of Material.

Display the routing

Click Routing. See Enter a Routing.

Display miscellaneous costs

Click Misc costs. See Enter Miscellaneous Costs.

Display the project and unit costs for project quantities

Click Summary. See Display a Project Summary.

Display the sales quote generated by this project or the sales order line if the sales quote has been transferred

Click Order. See Enter a Sales Quotation or Display a Summarized Sales Order. Click OK or Exit to return to this program.

This button displays only for a transferred customer project.

Accept the data and exit

Click OK.

  1. Choose the appropriate options when you click OK or Cancel:
