Enter a Project Bill of Material
When you click BOM in the Project Maintenance (PSM) program, you can enter, change, and copy a project bill of material, add a subassembly, add, copy, merge, and delete components. See Background and Road Map for more information.
If this is the first record for the bill of material, the program displays the parent item number and the ECL code entered in the project header.

Enter the number of the parent item or click the Lookup icon and use the standard lookup options to select the item number from a list. |

Enter an Engineering Change Level for this bill of material. If you leave blank, the program prompts Use current ECL? Click Yes to use the ECL you entered on the project header or in the Current ECL field in the items branch record or click No to enter a different ECL. If you click No, the program prompts Product structure with blank ECL does not exist. Create it? Click Yes to create it or click No to cancel this action. ECLs should be assigned a number. |
The Eng drawing no field displays the drawing number if you entered that field in the item's branch record.

(Optional) Click Bill copy to copy an existing bill of material.
Enter an item name in your database.
Enter the new engineering change level.
Accept the Notes selection to copy existing notes.
Click Modify to make changes to the BOM, or click OK.
Click Component or OK. You can add or copy components to the BOM or merge components from another project or from an item in your database. See:
