Change an Existing Forecast Quantity

Use the Forecast Maintenance (MSF) program to enter a new enterprise forecast period and change an existing forecast quantity. See Background and Road Map for more information.

  1. Enter the item number whose forecast you want to change or click the Lookup icon and use the standard lookup options to select the item from a list.

    The program displays a number of fields. See Enter a Forecast for a New Period for field descriptions.

  2. Select a future forecast period that you want to change and click OK. You cannot enter a forecast quantity for a period that was created by independent sales.

  3. Choose the appropriate options:

Change a field

Move to cursor to the field and make required changes.

Accept changes and keep the current screen displayed

Click Apply.

Delete this forecast

Click Delete. See Delete.

Exit without changing this forecast quantity

Click Cancel.

Accept the data

Click OK.

  1. Click Recalculate to adjust the forecast variance for this period.

  2. Choose the appropriate options:

Add another forecast period for this item

Click Add.

Delete the selected forecast period

Click Delete. See Delete.

Change the selected forecast period

Click OK.

Print the forecast period listing

Click Print. See Print an Inquiry.

Include sales in new periods or update Fcst variance

Click Recalculate.

Extend the forecast by period

Click Period. See Extend the Forecast by Periods you Define.

Extend the forecast by month

Click Calendar. See Extend the Forecast by Months.

Extend the forecast by periods defined in the Forecast Period Maintenance (MST) program

Click Template. See Extend the Forecast using a Template.

Display forecasts from sales representatives, customers, or branches

Click Detail. See Display Forecast Detail. Click Exit to return to this program.

Exit the forecast for this item

Click Exit.
