Display Inventory Status

Use the Inventory Status Inquiry (ISQ) program to display an item's current on-hand, on-order, intransit, committed, obligated, available, and in consignment quantities, sources of supply, types of demand, quantities of substitute items, or family components. See Background and Road Map for more information.

  1. Enter the number of the item or click the Lookup icon and use the standard lookup options to select the item from a list.

    The program displays these fields:

Displays

Item number

The item number that you entered or selected

Description

The item's description set in the Enterprise Item Maintenance (IM) program

Alt desc

The item's alternative description set in the Enterprise Item Maintenance (IM) program

Xref

The additional sort criterion set in the Enterprise Item Maintenance (IM) program and used by the item lookup

Item type

The item type based on its order and bypass codes selected in the Enterprise Item Maintenance (IM) program; see Item Types.

Status

The item's status as defined in the Item Status Codes (TISM) program and selected in the Enterprise Item Maintenance (IM) program.

Whse/Bin

Whether warehouse and bin controlled; set in the Enterprise Item Maintenance (IM) program:
Y
: Warehouse and bin location controlled
N
: Not controlled by warehouse or bin location

Serial/Lot

Whether serial or lot controlled; set in the Enterprise Item Maintenance (IM) program:

Pre-assign

When serial or lot numbers are assigned; set in the Enterprise Item Maintenance (IM) program:

Item code

A code that can be used for:

  • Make-to-order items for which you want the system to create a manufacturing order or requisition when you enter a sales order for the item. The code must match the code entered for the Immediate supply item code option in the System Options Maintenance (XM) program (Inventory Control Options).

  • A parent item or the parent of its subassembly for which you want the system to create cascading manufacturing orders. The code must match the code entered for the Subassembly release type option in the System Options Maintenance (XM) program (Manufacturing Options).

  • Selecting items for planning with the Finished Goods Planning (MFP) and/or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) programs.

Shelf life code

The code that corresponds to the shelf life for this item. Applicable to lot and serial controlled items only.

The program displays these fields based on the scope you selected for the Scope for inventory quantities Program option:

On hand

The quantity of this item that is in on-hand inventory

Flr stk

The quantity that is in floor stock

On order

The quantity that has been ordered on requisitions, purchase orders, manufacturing orders, and transfers but not received

This field does not include requisitions for purchased services.

Intransit

The quantity that is in the process of being transferred from one branch to another, which includes confirmed shipments not yet received at the requesting branch.

Note
The On order quantity for the requesting branch includes transfer requests.

Committed

The quantity needed for sales orders, manufacturing orders, and outgoing branch transfers

Obligated

The quantity assigned to sales orders, manufacturing orders, and outgoing branch transfers

Available

The quantity that is in inventory and not obligated: On hand + Floor stock - Obligated

OR

The quantity that is in inventory and not needed for other orders: On hand + Floor stock - Committed

Your setting for the Calc available using obligated/committed option in the System Options Maintenance (XM) program (Inventory Options) determines which calculation the program uses.

Qty in MRB

The quantity awaiting disposition by the Material Review Board

Consignment

The quantity that is in consignment inventory

Qty in insp

The quantity that is in inspection

Lot size

The standard quantity of the item that you make during the production process; set in the Branch Item Maintenance (IMB) program

For a consignment item, the system moves this quantity from consignment to on-hand inventory; if 0, the system moves only the quantity required for the manufacturing order

Safety stk

The minimum quantity of this item that should be kept in inventory at all times to protect against fluctuations in demand or supply; set in the Branch Item Maintenance (IMB) program

Min ord qty

The minimum quantity of this item to be ordered on a planned order; set in the Branch Item Maintenance (IMB) program

Status

The item's manufacturing branch status

Pref vendor

The preferred vendor (if a purchased item)

Mfg order qty picked

The quantity of this component that has been picked for manufacturing orders

Mfg order qty in WIP

The quantity of this component that is in work in process: Mfg order qty picked - Mfg order qty received x Current quantity per

Qty in MRB

The quantity awaiting disposition by the material review board

Qty in insp

The quantity that is in inspection

Primary whse

The warehouse where this item is stocked; set in the Branch Item Maintenance (IMB) program

Primary bin location

The bin location in the warehouse where this item is stocked; set in the Branch Item Maintenance (IMB) program

Display supply and demand orders and projected inventory quantities

Click Sup/Dem. Display Commitments and Orders. Click OK to return to this screen.

Display substitutes for this item

This button is not displayed if the Item type is Family.

Display items in this family

This button displays if the Item type is Family.

Display demand and availability

Display material review board information

Note
Prices are displayed in the sales unit of measure.

Click Exit.

The Branch or branch grp Selection option affects the branches that display when you click Branch.

Include reqs in On order qty?

Required

When selected, the on order quantity displayed on the initial screen and when you click Branch includes requisitions. Clear the field to exclude requisitions.

    1. Click Save to save these options for future use.

    2. Click Refresh to display current options.

    3. Click OK to apply these options or click Cancel to exit without applying them.
