Display Work in Process for Work Centers

Use the Work Center Operations (WCO) program to display work in process for work centers and enter good and scrap pieces. See Road Map for work flow.

  1. Click the Lookup icon and use the standard lookup options to select a work center and machine number or outside service. Skip step 2.

    OR

    Enter the work center number; for an outside service enter VENDOR.

  2. Enter the work center's machine number; enter the vendor number for an outside service.

    OR

    Leave the field blank to display all machines for the selected work center.

The program displays the work center number, machine number (if selected), operation description (or vendor's name if an outside service) and work center queue time.

  • For a regular or unattended operation: (Qty remaining x Hours per piece) + ((Quantity remaining / Standard lot size) x Setup time)

  • For a batch operation: ((Qty remaining x Hours per batch) / Pieces per batch) + ((Qty remaining / Pieces per batch) x Setup time)

  1. (Optional) Double-click a manufacturing order number or click Movement to enter good and scrap pieces. Press F1 for help topic. Click OK to return to this program.

  1. (Optional) Click Prog opts to review your options. To change them:

    1. Click the Runtime tab to set runtime options. See Set Options for Reports and Inquiries for more information.

    2. Click the Sort tab to set sort order.

    3. Click the Selection tab to select specific records.

    4. Click the Program tab to set this program specific option:

  1. Click Save to save these options for future use.

  2. Click OK to apply these options or click Cancel to exit without applying them.

Display routing operation details for the selected manufacturing order operation sequence

Display work center information

Click Wrk ctr. See Display Work Centers. Click OK to return to this program.

Display component usage for the selected manufacturing order

Click Component. See Display Component Usage. Click OK to return to this program.

Display the Component Supply-Demand Inquiry for the selected parent item number

Click Sup/Dem. Press F1 for help topic. Click OK to return to this program.

Enter good pieces completed, scrap parent items, and scrap components for an operation

Click Movement. See Enter Good and Scrap Quantities. Click OK to return to this program.

Print the shop paper for the selected line

Click Shop paper. See Print or Reprint Documents.

Change the scheduled start date, start time or the work center/machine where the work is scheduled

Click Adjust oper. See Change a Work Center Operation Start Date and Time.

Displaying total remaining pieces and hours at this work center for all open manufacturing orders

Click Totals. Click Totals again to return to the detail display.

Print the list of open orders for this work center

Click Print. See Print an Inquiry.

Print a document of parts produced for a selected work in process

Click Traveler.

The program prompts for the quantity to be printed on the traveler document and uses the Label code program option to print the document. A Report Generator specification for a generic traveler ($TRAVEL) is included with PowerShift; it can be changed as needed.

View an image, PDF file, or web page for the item of a selected line

Click View.

Display documents related to the selected parent item

Click Documents. See Display Related Documents. Click OK to return to this program.

Review tool availability for this work center

Click Tools. See Tool Activity Maintenance. Click OK to return to this program.

Choose a different work center

Click OK.

Exit the program

Click Exit.
