Copy a Project Item

When you click Inventory and then Item in the Project Maintenance (PSM) program, you can enter, change, and copy items for a project. See Background and Road Map for more information.

  1. Enter an item number that exists in your database, or click the second Lookup icon on the right and use the Standard Lookup Options to select a standard item from your database. Click OK.

  2. Select the standard item or a project item that you want to copy.

  3. Click Copy.

    Note

    When you click Copy, you copy the item's branch and cost records also.

  4. Enter a new item number for the copied item in the Item number field. Do not use special characters such as: +, -, ?, #. <, >, !, @, /, ., [, or ] as a single-character item number. However, you can use special characters as the first character in a string of characters.

  1. Change the fields that are different for this new item. See Enter an Item for a Project for field descriptions.

  1. Click Other info.

  2. Change the fields that are different for this new item. See Enter an Item for a Project for field descriptions.

  3. Click OK.

  4. Choose the appropriate options:

Delete the selected item

Click Copy.

Display the selected item

Click Select.

Print the item listing

Click Print. See Print.

Exit items

Click Exit.

Click Delete. The program prompts Do you want to delete this record?. Click Delete to delete this entire project or click No to retain this project.

Exit without changing this project

Click Cancel.

This button displays only if you entered a new customer and new customer number in the Customer number field.

Enter miscellaneous costs

Click Misc costs. See Enter Miscellaneous Costs.

Calculate costs for project quantities

Click Roll up.

Display the project and unit costs for project quantities

Click Summary. See Display a Project Summary.

Print documents for this program

Click Print and then:

Display the sales quote generated by this project or the sales order line if the sales quote has been transferred

Click Order. See Enter a Sales Quotation or Display a Summarized Sales Order.

This button displays only for a transferred customer project.

Accept the data and exit

Click OK.

  1. When you click OK or Cancel, enter another project number or exit the program.
