Obligate Components of a Configured Product

After you select the components of a configured product that the customer wants, click Configured to obligate the components or create a manufacturing order.

  1. Enter data in these fields:

Select if you build the finished item from these components or leave blank if you do not.

If you selected Create manufacturing order?, the program displays a message that either a manufacturing order or requisition has been created with its number. Click OK.

Exit without obligating the components or creating a manufacturing order for this configured product

Display previous orders for the item  ordered on this line

Click View BCBI. See Display Sales by Customer by Item. Click Exit to return to this program.

This button displays only if you selected the option Update sales history by cust by item? in the System Options Maintenance (XM) program (Order Processing Options).

Display a graphic associated this item

Click View image. Click Close to remove the graphic from the display.

Change the taxes that apply to this line

Click Taxability. See Change Taxes.

Obligate components for this line or release a manufacturing order

Click Configured.

Display the supply order created for this line

Click Supply. See Display Supply.

This button appears only if you or the system created a supply order.

Copy this line to create a blanket order or create a new line for the quantity you plan to ship on another date

This button does not display in the One-Step Invoice Entry (RE) and EDI/Sales Quote Maintenance (QOE) programs or for a configured product.

Enter or change the customer item number that prints on sales and shipping documents

Click Cust item. Enter or change the customer item number in the Cust item no field.

If you want to use this number on future orders, you need to enter it in the Customer Item Maintenance (CIX) program.

Enter, display, or change sales reps and portion of the line value used to calculate a commission

Click Comm splits. See Display or Change Sales Reps and Splits.

Note
You cannot change sales reps or commission splits after you invoice the order or transfer a sales quote or EDI order to an online order.

Display or change the surcharges for the item ordered on this line

Click Surcharges. The program prompts Correct? Click Yes to confirm or click No to change. See Enter or Change Surcharges for an Item.

This button displays only if the Customer surcharges active? option in the System Options Maintenance (XM) program (Order Processing Options) is selected.

Entered the item's declared value

Click Decl value.

Accept the data

Click OK. The program lists the selected components, unless you have created a manufacturing order or requisition. If you obligated the components, the Sts column displays Obl.

  1. (Conditional) If you created a manufacturing order and System Options Maintenance XM Order Processing Options Allow changes of previous CP selections? and Warn of Multiple Component Connects? are selected for your branch, see Maintain a Configured BOM.

  2. Choose the appropriate options when you click OK or Cancel:

Display details of a selected component

Click Select.

Display components from a specific component

Click Restart. The program prompts Comp item no and Part designator. Enter the first component you want to display or leave the fields blank to begin with the first component in the file.

Print the component listing

Click Print. See Print.

Display the previous set of records in the file

Click Page up.

Display the next set of records in the file

Click Page down.

Display or override the Unit price and Total price of the selected components of this configured product

Click Line price. See Change Configured Item Pricing.

Switch the display to show and hide intermediate components; when displayed, the letter "c" appears to the left of these components

Click Display.

Exit configured product line entry

Click Exit.

  1. Choose the appropriate options when you click Exit:

Note

If you delete a line that has a related requisition, which has not been released, the requisition will also be deleted; the obligated and committed quantities will be adjusted accordingly.

Display the selected line

Click Select.

Display lines from a specific line

Click Restart. The program prompts Line number. Enter the first line you want to display or leave blank to begin with the first line in the file.

Print the line listing

Click Print. See Print.

Display the previous set of records in the file

Click Page up.

Display the next set of records in the file

Click Page down.

Display all previous orders for all items this customer purchased

Click View BCI. See Display Sales by Customer by Item. Click Exit to return to this program.

This button displays only if you selected the Update sales history by cust by item? option in the System Options Maintenance (XM) program (Order Processing Options).

Display shipment information for this order

Click Shipments and then:

Display the shipment for the selected line. See Display Shipment Information for an Order Line.

Click Exit to return to this program.

The EDI/Sales Quote Maintenance (QOE) program does not display this button.

Switch the display to include or exclude shipments

Click Hide ship.

The EDI/Sales Quote Maintenance (QOE) program does not display this button.

Replace a component of an item under warranty

Click Warranty. See Replace a Component Under Warranty.

This button displays if you selected the Allow selection in order entry? option in the System Options Maintenance (XM) program (Warranty Tracking Options).

Use Qic-Entry mode when you click Add to enter the next line

Click Short form.

This button displays if you selected 0 for the Line entry method & fields Program option or you clicked Long form.

Use full-screen mode when you click Add to enter the next line

Click Long form.

This button displays if you selected 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 for the Line entry method & fields Program option or you clicked Short form.

Change dates in the Date entered, Date wanted, Date promised, Expected ship, and/or Adj promised fields

Click Adj dates. See Adjust Order Line Dates.

Copy a configured item and create a new order line

Click Merge cfg and then:
